This Cohiba is a very rustic looking habano with a sloppy cap, lumpy feel, and big veins, however it is one of our prefered vitola at Buycubancigars.Some will say it look more like a Padron than a Cohiba. The Genios has an earthy and leathery smell at cold. Very well constructed and full bodied cuban cigars with an easy draw. The burn is straight the first second third of the habano then became crooked. Complex, yet not too demanding, a cuban cigar to enjoy while relaxing and waxing philosophical about life in general. The wrapper on the Genios has been aged for 5 years. This vitola features a rich bouquet and enticing. This habano starts with an earthy and leathery taste with some cedar flavors on the finish. It is not very smooth at this point, and perhaps won´t really taste much like a conventional Cohiba Cuban cigar. However, at the midpoint the cigar hit its stride. Some coffee flavors develop and the Genios start to become more balanced and smooth. Finally this cigar tastes Cuban! This might be short lived though, as it may become harsh toward the end and lost most of its flavors. Enjoy now this vitola or resist for a while and age in your humidor. A nicely aged cabernet sauvignon wii definitely paired pretty well with this habano, another of the Cohiba vitolas using dark wrapper.
