Outstanding construction, the pre-draw brings mostly leather notes. First puffs are very earthy and surprisingly not that powerful, but the cuban flavors soon become much more complex, lovely leather and spice notes. The intensity is growing as well. The second third is very well balanced, with earthy flavors dominating and offering a very rich smoking experience. The last third is very strong, you are literally overwhelmed by the flavor of this havana smoke. BCC advice is that this vitola will definitely be too much for a beginner, so beware! Partagas 898 cigars offer extremely profound flavors that will please a weathered smoker, that’s for sure. However, these habanos are not recommended for beginners.
