Description
The San Cristobal de la Punta is another modern cuban vitola, which BCC finds very easy to smoke due to its size. The fresh floral aspects make La Punta habanos different than any other Belicosos vitola, but it maintains perfectly in trend with the Habanos S.A brand. San Cristobal de la Habana La Punta are a classic torpedo, part of the original four vitolas from the Habanos S.A brand. BCC considers this stogie not as good as the Oficios cuban cigars , and therefore deserving a better position in the overall leaderboard. Although the wrapper does not appear to be uniformely colored, the first impression on these habanos is positive. San Cristobal La Punta is what you expect a classic Cuban to look like, with the typical colorado wrapper and a skillfully made triple cap. Although the wrapper has a sweet smell to it, the pre-draw on these cigars only reveals cedary notes. These cuban cigars produce slightly less smoke than others San Cristobal cigars. These San Cristobal La Punta habanos start out very woody then develops vegetal flavors. Medium-bodied throughout the whole smoke, these cuban cigars lack complexity in the first third but makes up for it in the second third, the flavors become deeper and there are some very nice toasted notes in the bouquet of this vitola. Here and there, some spice and fruits, might be dried fruits… cherry, pleasantly diversify the flavor profile. BCC advise: try this smoke with a tannic red wine, either a French or escape with a New World Wine!
